THE JOBKEEPER SCHEME

A “last word” on the Federal Government’s JOBKEEPER program in addition to the messages that have been provided to you by us since mid-March.

Jockeys and Apprentice Jockeys are registered with the ATO as Sole Traders. If eligible, Jockeys and Apprentices are able to apply for JOBKEEPER.

Eligibility: If your income has been impacted by 30% or more in April 2020 compared to April 2019 you should be eligible to receive the payment of $1500 per fortnight.

Again, if your income has been impacted by 30% or more in May 2020 compared with May 2019, you should be eligible to receive the payment of $1500 per fortnight.

Note: JOBKEEPER is scheduled to run until the end of September and at this stage the same 30% or more test will apply.

HOWEVER, THIS COMING SUNDAY 31 MAY IS THE LAST DAY YOU CAN ENROL FOR JOBKEEPER PAYMENTS FOR THE PERIOD COVERING APRIL AND MAY

IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE, TO APPLY FOR JOBKEEPER AS A “SOLE TRADER”, YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE YOUR APPLICATION THROUGH THE AUSTRALIAN TAXATION OFFICE (ATO).

You will need to be able to provide your AUSTRALIAN BUSINESS NUMBER (ABN). If you do not know your ABN, then click on the link below and type in your full name and your ABN should be listed.
