AJA appoints new National OH&S officer

The Australian Jockeys Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Ring as the Association’s new National Occupational Health & Safety Officer.

Kevin, a former jockey who rode with distinction for 30 years, has been involved with the Tasmanian Jockeys Association for the past 12 years in a number of roles including President.

Chief Executive, Paul Innes, said the AJA had identified the need for a full time OH&S Officer and was pleased that Mr Ring has agreed to take up the role from the 1st of November.

“Kevin, for many years, has demonstrated a strong commitment to improve the welfare of jockeys, particularly in the area of safety,” Mr Innes said.

“He will no doubt provide the AJA with the necessary expertise to ensure improved safety for all riders in this country.”
